Replacing the 370Z in the Nissan sports car lineup, the 2023 Nissan Z makes a dramatic entrance onto the road with an exhilarating ride.
Find out more about its increased power, exterior and interior design, and the technologies it incorporates.
The 2023 Nissan Z
A Motorization That Propels!
Under the hood, the Nissan Z is equipped with a powerful 3.0 L twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces 400 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 350 lb-ft of torque from 1,600 to 5,600 rpm.
Are you a manual or automatic transmission enthusiast? With the Z, the choice is yours between a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Performance version with a manual transmission adds a gear shift system with SynchroRev technology, while the automatic version is based on the GT-R's shifters.
Note also that this version will count on a cannon-start function for impressive acceleration, the figures of which have not yet been revealed.
Not only fast, this sports car increases driving pleasure with a new limited-slip differential and a new power-control system, both optional. The latter serves to eliminate wheel spin and hop, for an even more stable ride.
As for the suspension, the car is upgraded with new and improved components:
- New monotube shock absorbers
- Optimized front suspension geometry
- Recalibrated rear suspension
- A new power steering system
- A more rigid chassis
If you dream of a powerful, precise, and comfortable ride, the new Nissan Z is for you!
A Modern Retro Style
The 2023 Nissan Z combines modern features with a touch of retro style, including its distinctive profile and LED headlights that form two semicircles. At the front, it features a long hood; at the rear, a sporty receding roofline.
Standard 18-inch wheels with performance tires come standard, while the Performance models feature 19-inch forged alloy wheels. These variants also add a red spoiler and brake calipers.
Looking for an even more distinctive look? Try the Proto Special Edition with its eye-catching features:
- Yellow and black exterior
- 19-inch Titanium gold forged alloy wheels
- Yellow brake calipers
- Yellow interior trim and stitching
Other versions offer two monochromatic tone choices or five two-tone hinge choices with a contrasting black roof.
An Equally Sporty Interior
The quality of finish is also evident inside the car, offering sporty seats, enhanced with optional leather and synthetic suede. The side bolsters, padding and knee protectors keep you in place while providing comfortable seating. According to Carl Nadeau, a journalist for the Annuel de l'automobile:
"It feels like a more expensive vehicle!"
The steering wheel is leather-wrapped and GT-R-inspired; the instrumentation is digital and displays three dials to keep an eye on your driving parameters. The controls are right at your fingertips and allow you to become one with your car.
Up-To-Date Technologies
All the expected infotainment technologies are found in the Nissan Z, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and an optional 8-inch touchscreen.
When driving a performance car, staying safe is paramount. That's why a comprehensive set of driver assistance technologies are built in:
- Emergency braking system with pedestrian detection
- Forward collision warning
- Blind spot warning system
- Cross traffic alert system
- Lane departure warning system
- High beam assist
